digesting surprises

The skiing season will soon come to an end. The plan is to join the last sunset ski on Sunday in Bromont and then pack up the stuff and take it down to the locker. Skiing this winter went from being a solitary musical experience to a couples activity. My dominican surprised me with taking lessons in secrecy and joined me up the chair lift one white Saturday in the end of February. My reaction to it all was colorful, to put it nicely. I was happy and proud of him but at the same time wondering what else he might be able to pull off in secrecy. I had no clue of anything and the peculiar part was that the skies were hidden under the bed for weeks. What's up with my female intuition and how about vacuum cleaning under the bed from time to time?
Since my ego calmed down, we have enjoyed several pleasant moments in Bromont, both skiing and eating. Found a nice breakfast place called Le Magasin Général on Shefford street.

Really nice ambiance and food. First time we went there, ZAZ was playing, a happy and jazzy French artist I love. The second time, it was Leonard Cohen waltzing us to the end of love, so we decided right then and there that when ever we have breakfast in Bromont it should absolutely be in this restaurant.

As for an evening restaurant, we got nicely surprised by restaurant Mac Pherson, also on Shefford street. It's in the oldest building in the village, built in 1886. Being conveniently close to the railway station and as traveling by train was more poular back in these days, it used to serve as a hotel.

Nowadays it's an office building with a restaurant downstairs that serves great food to the sounds of the Gipsy Kings. They surely play other music as well but the night we were there,we got to enjoy these Spanish rhythms.

This skiing season, went from sitting alone in the chair lift listening to music, not communicating with strangers...

... to enjoying the slopes both in light and dark in the company of my beloved, very much communicating.

A wonderfully splendid surprised ... after the necessary digestion and a hint of self analyze.
